My remote and key didn't convince it I wasn't trouble, Vanessa's remote and key couldn't persuade it either. Standing beside the car doing my best Basil Fawlty impression, I would have thought that using a TV remote sounded perfectly reasonable, because, at the time, I was ready to try some percussive maintenance. In the end, we didn't keep the car much after the £500 bill for a new set of keys. You're probably best making up your own moral to this story.
