Fashionably Late
October 11th, 2007 by Vanessa
It looks as though another of the brilliant blogs that I read is about to be turned into a book by The Friday Project. Mother at Large is an Edinburgh-based blogger who writes mostly about her experiences as someone who became a mother in her late 30s. Although this is an increasingly common phenomenon most books on pregnancy and parenting assume the readers is in their 20s and professionals such as obstetricians and midwives have a tendency to treat older mums-to-be as relics from the Jurassic period. Fashionably Late will be a survival guide that looks at pregnancy and parenting from the older mum’s viewpoint covering everything from scare-mongering health visitors to maternity bras and career issues and I think it will be a huge success.
It’s brilliant news and much deserved and I’m already planning to get her to do a promotional event aimed at pregnant mums-to-be at the new shop – catch ‘em young I say!
Thanks so much for the write-up, Vanessa, and for all your help with Fashionably Late. It would be wonderful to do a promotional event in your new shop. Guess I’d better get writing!
Are we all invited MaL? Congratulations, great news.
More the merrier, @themill!
