Been a bit quiet
May 25th, 2009 by Vanessa
Hello! It’s been a bit quiet here lately and I’ve had a few emails from people wondering if we’re all ok which is very caring but rather disconcerting as I never really believe that anyone reads this apart from a few friends and acquaintances. And my brother when he’s not got enough to do at work. And my mother of course. But you know – only a few people, because I don’t really believe the figures on Statcounter and I’m always convinced they got us confused with someone else.
Anyhow, to explain we’ve been really busy and I’ve been a bit reticent about writing as a few fairly big things are up in the air at the moment and until they’ve firmed up I don’t want to prejudice things by talking about them. Suffice it to say that (barring cock-ups) in the next week or so we should have lots of exciting things to tell you about the summer exhibition (which makes us feel a bit like the Royal Academy) and plans for the autumn.
In the meantime, this should give another hint about our plans…
I nearly called in to see you when in town last week, but then Debi Gliori kept me far longer than anticipated, so no time for Fidra. August, perhaps…
Now Vanessa, you were the person who said that blogs should be updated regularly or people would stop reading them. Remember? Fortunately for you I get one of those nice little reminders on my blog whenever you update yours.
Yes, I do read yours. I am quite certain nobody reads mine. This is probably just as well. (Why would anyone be interested in the mindless ramblings of a cat from Downunder?) Be warned however that you are sometimes mentioned on my blog.
Now Vanessa, you know that there are people who read your blog, even if they don’t always leave comments. Unfortunately, Berkshire is rather far away, so I may not come and visit your shop. But if you have signed copies of Nicola’s new book eventually, I shall certainly be interested.
You may remember that I once said that hugging a bookseller you are not intimate with might not be a good idea (but I don’t remember which blog post that went with).
I read your blog and publishing every day without fail so don’t you dare go on strike or you’ll get yourself in dead trouble!!
